ANNE MORGAN
PENARTH, VALE OF GLAMORGAN
Anne Morgan is an established contemporary jeweller who recently designed and made the National Eisteddfod of Wales 2012 Crown. Anne has been well supported by the Arts Council of Wales with two Project Grants and enjoys continually developing her work. She is based in South Wales.
She is the current chair of ACJ (Association for Contemporary Jewellery) Wales and founding member of the group. She is also a member of Makers Guild in Wales where she exhibits her work through their gallery, Craft in the Bay.
Anne’s specialisation, is to use a technique called reticulation. It is a process that uses a flame to almost melt the surface of the silver. The texture marks a precise moment in which Anne withdraws the flame from part-liquefied silver. She often combines the textured silver with semi-precious stones, pearls and other found objects.
